Food Custom Printed Labels

Do you read food labels? I recommend you start reading them, even if you are not really conscious of what you eat or not counting calories. You NEED to know what you eat.

The Food and Drug Administration requires that all processed foods be labeled according to a set of guidelines. A label must list values for a 2000-calorie diet as well as limits for both a 2000 and a 2500-calorie diet. Serving sizes have been standardized based on how much of a food people eat. If manufacturers list an ingredient, they must also list the amount of that ingredient and what proportion of the recommended intake it represents.

Food manufacturers should also note when their products expire, and when it was manufactured. There are some who use stamps (heat stamped by machine) on their boxes but Custom Printed Labels last longer and are noticed more. And that’s what consumers need – they need to notice the label so that they will read it.

That is why Custom Labels are so in demand. Most companies start with needing a logo custom-made and then when it is approved, they are now made into different labels for attaching to their packaging to brand their products even more. Data Graphics Inc. has been in the industry for 25 years and have been making all kinds of labels, specifically Custom Label, for manufacturers and consumers.

Bread Wraps

Bread WrapsThis is what I have been eating for about a week now. I have been trying to live a healthier lifestyle and lose weight but have been unable to give up on carbs just yet. I compensate by moving a lot. I try to get up and do jumping jacks or dance every hour for five to ten minutes,  just to spark my metabolism. My goal is to be able to fit into my clothes before my two kids before I turn 30 10 months from now. If you think about it, if I am just consistent, that would be 10lbs a month – a 100lb loss! (That’s too much though, I might fit into baby clothes already – just kidding :D)

Anyway, back to the bread wraps, the wrap itself is still high in calories, but it leaves me fuller faster. Rice just makes me crave more.

These are the nutritional values for a whole wheat pita bread:

iPhone App: Lose It!

Lose It iPhone App

This was recommended by a friend who has been trying to live a healthier lifestyle. It has been in my iPhone for two weeks before I finally tinkered around with it and give it a try. It really works wonders – you get to track down what you eat, what you spend (calories) and they even have a date when you can attain your goal weight if you lose a certain number of pounds a week. This way, I wouldn’t need prototype 37-c for treating my wrinkles, as everything is there already.

Here is what it looks like:

Ever wanted to try something different besides cooking and baking?

Try pottery!

And now that it is summer, you can even take your kids along with you so they can learn along as you learn the ropes of pottery! Working with clay together is a great way to get some good quality time with your children. AMACO/Brent  has materials and equipments like potter’s wheels for you and your kids. They even have a special category in their web site for kids! They have the balsa foam that cuts like butter, perfect for kids.

You can also buy replacement potters wheel parts and self-hardening clays if you already have them.

To get started with your clay pottery together, simply place a small amount of clay on your Brent pottery wheels. The key thing to remember when working with your clay is to make sure that it is always wet. If your clay isn’t wet enough it will make working with it rather difficult. Keep a small bowl of water nearby to dip your fingers in.

Here are some points to consider in getting pottery wheels for your children:

  1. Size: How old is your child? Make sure the wheel is the right size and can handle the stress they might put on it over the years.
  2. Durability:  Make sure you choose a quality kids wheel and don’t just settle for the cheapest one, otherwise you might wind up purchasing several wheels over the years.
  3. Safety: Make sure you choose a kids pottery wheel that has all of the proper safety precautions.

Eating to Cheer Yourself Up

Depression affects so many people in various levels. There are people who pull themselves out of the hole without any help, some just need someone to talk to while some need medical intervention. While I agree that there are people who need anxiety depression treatment, I still believe that therapy like talking and love from family and significant people will help more.

There are even foods that can help alleviate depression!

“Happy Foods” To Chow Down On

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Helps build your brain’s neural connections and the receptor sites for neurotransmitters, resulting in an increase in your level of serotonin. Foods high in Omega 3 include nuts and seeds, oily fish such as tuna or salmon, avocado, dark green vegetables, and extra virgin olive oil.

B Vitamins

Cannot be stored in our bodies and are killed by refined sugars, alcohol, and caffeine, making it necessary to include them in our daily diet. B vitamins affect systems differently, but in general they are a key factor in providing energy for the brain and processing amino acids. To obtain a sufficient daily intake you should consider taking a vitamin supplement in addition to eating foods rich in vitamin B complex.

Amino Acids

5-Hydroxy Tryptophan, made from the amino acid tryptophan, is crucial in boosting your serotonin levels. This can be found in protein-rich foods such as fish, meat, beans and eggs.

Chromium

Is responsible for maintaining a stable blood-sugar level, as insulin is unable to function properly without it. Foods rich in chromium include onions, broccoli, tomatoes, romaine lettuce and grape juice.

Making the Most Out of Outdoor Sheds

Outdoor sheds have always been one of the solutions for storage problems. It can also mean additional space for the family, another place where a member of the family can explore and focus on their hobby – whether it be music, carpentry, sewing, etc.

The only thing left to consider is whether to invest on a custom built storage shed or buy a Duramax shed. Where I live it can get quite hot. If you live in the same type of climate, make sure you get shed plans which include roof venting. This will help prevent the heat from damaging the contents in the shed. Another decision you will need to consider is the longevity of your storage shed and whether it will need to be painted or treated every year. You won’t have this problem if you vinyl sheds. Vinyl sheds are tough and durable. These will not dent or suffer from rust, rot, or attract termites or mildew. What’s more, you will never need repainting one of their sheds because it really won’t undergo any discoloration. The sheds are indeed an all-weather one that will last for a life time. And do not worry about aesthetics either. Vinyl sheds now come in beautiful colors too so you will find one that will fit in your yard perfectly.

These types of sheds can now be built for your family’s needs!

Now, for example, if you have an RV or a boat that is only used depending on the season, a portable garage might work for you. Portable garages are custom-made shelters used for storing motor vehicles and other equipment. Not only will they store your equipment it will also protect them from harsh temperature, extreme weather conditions and for incidental scratches. They are easy to build and are available with sliding, zipper or roll-up garage doors. These structures can be custom-made if necessary. It is easy to put them up, and also one can take them down easily, as they are not permanent structures.

Planning for your Home

While I am dreaming of my white kitchen (Yes I still cannot get over it!), the husband has been looking at the expansive house plans available at HousePlansandMore.com. We discovered the site when we were looking for a nice design for an additional project for the house of an aunt. She wants to have a gazebo installed in her lawn just in time for her daughter’s 18th debut party which will be held at their home.

The one I saw at the site was perfect and even made me think of a scene in the Disney movie called the Princess and the Frog:

Party Planning

It is no secret that I do not really cook. Entertaining for me at home involves pizza, pasta, soda and plastic paper plates from Yellow Cab Pizza all the time. Better spend money and enjoy than to cook and have your guests eat burnt food is what I always tell myself.

Setting up a party isn’t always easy, especially if you’re the host. To help with this, one good tip that you should probably keep in mind is the checklist, which consists of all of the things that need to be done and when you need to do them. Here are some points you might want to consider.

1. Think through your guest list. Determine the number of guests coming. Make sure people RSVP!
2. Once you’ve a guest list, believe by means of the timing. Make sure you make all the details clear.

3. Pick a theme. People are much more most likely to arrive out if there’s a call to action. Host an ugly sweater party, a potluck or a party for watching the season finale of the favorite show. It doesn’t actually matter what the theme is itself, but having one is likely to motivate your guests by giving them a thing to obtain excited about. Besides, half the fun of party planning really planning anything.

4. Get sufficient refreshments.

5. Take lots of pictures. And make sure you are in them!

After you are done with basics, you must focus on the highlight of the party – FOOD! There are two things that you should always have plenty of supply of: finger foods or appetizers and drinks or refreshments. We don’t control the flow or the length of the party at times and these two will make extended party times easier. Party Food Recipes can always be found online and I suggest you have a list of great appetizers on standby. It also makes a great serving food for guests during impromptu visits.

    image Cream Cheese Wonton

    Ingredients:

    • 1 – 8 oz. package of cream cheese softened
    • 16 – Wonton Wrappers
    • Oil for Frying
    • 1 – Jar of Sweet and Sour sauce for dipping

    Preparation:

    1. Heat oil in a deep-fat fryer or pour into a deep skillet on high temperature. Vegetable oil or peanut oil works best.
    2. While oil is heating, lay out as many wrappers as you plan to use.
    3. Have a small bowl of water nearby to wet your fingers in.
    4. Put a small dab of cream cheese in one corner of each wrapper, about 1/2” from the edges. Use about 1 tsp.
    5. Using your fingers, wet the two edges nearest the cream cheese, then fold the other half down and seal the edges, making a triangle shape.
    6. Seal the edges tightly, but try to leave small gaps at the corners so the triangles will not expand so much that they burst.
    7. Drop several wontons into oil at a time. Turn over when the edges start to brown and cook for another minute or two.
    8. Set on paper towels to drain, then serve hot with sweet-and-sour sauce.
