Menu Planning

As with all families who try to lose weight and adapt a healthier lifestyle in the new year, I am trying to make sure that we have a good variety of greens, meat and fish in our weekly menu. And that is one hard thing to do, especially if you grew up in the Land of Fried (fried chicken, fried pork chop). I would not want to have my kids grow up needing supplement for weight loss like me so I bought this cookbook from Yummy.

So far, so good. We will see.

Zumba

Zumba

Have you always looked for weight loss pills that work and came home empty-handed and frustrated? You can accomplish more by eating right and exercising daily than looking for diet pills. Pills can only help as much but it will not take away your bad habits that lead to weight gain.

You might want to try Zumba – so far, I have not been bored by it:

Zumba is the name of a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto (“Beto”) Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. Zumba was marketed by entrepreneur Alberto Perlman[1], who made the concept popular through dance classes as well as branded merchandise.[2] The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. Zumba classes are offered through licensed instructors in more than 90,000 fitness center locations in 110 countries with ten million participants.[3] DVDs are also available for learning at home. Classes and instructional DVDs use music based on salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, samba and other international music styles and forms.

Noche Buena

Christmas time is always a time for catching up with family. So over talks about online business degrees, wedding plans, kids, reminiscing childhood memories and travel plans, we feasted on what my mother prepared for us – a feast of Pinoy and Italian/American dishes with lots of sweet treats. My kids loved the macaroni and chicken plus the chocolates and salad. I, meanwhile, just loved everything!

Christmas is truly my most favorite season of the year!

Sweet Treats

What better way than to have sweets like chocolates while playing games on your new Christmas gift, the PlayStation 3? It was exactly what happened during Christmas in our family, but we didn’t have playstation 3 but PSPs and iPhones/iPads/iTouch. Everyone had a gadget in his hands and were playing something over endless chit chats and jokes. Among the sweet treats, Crunch chocolate was my favorite!

Accutane

I have heard of the great Accutane lawsuit against the manufacturer of the drug, Roche. Isotretinoin, sold under the brand name Accutane, is the only drug that can cure acne, but it can cause horrible birth defects when taken by pregnant women. As a result, many women and their babies have been affected. Birth defects such as Crohn’s disease were traced to the usage of Accutane by the mother before and during pregnancy.

If you know a victim or have been a victim, know your right to claim compensation. If you suspect you have an Accutane injury such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease, or ulcerative colitis, and need to talk to a seasoned team of professionals, contact the law offices of O’Hanlon, McCollum & Demerath today.

Keeping up with Tom Clancy games

When it gets Christmas time and I start thinking about what to get my friends and family, I normally have a really good idea of what to get for my husband and my son. I can always count on buying my husband the newest crime thriller and for my son the newest kind of video game where the player is on some secret mission from the government or whatever and has to go and shoot up a bunch of people.

So I’ve been doing my research early for what I’m going to specifically get thin within these parameters. When I was looking up stuff for both of those with my HughesNet I got this great idea that it would be really easy to just buy them stuff that’s from Tom Clancy.

It seems like every time I turn around there’s a new book out by writer Tom Clancy and that they’re making a video game out of one of his books or a sequel to a video game that was based on one of his books. So I’m going to get my husband and son each one of those.

Choosing the Best Wine Glasses for Your Fine Wines

If you regularly entertain at home, it is advisable to invest on good dining ware. If you like to entertain friends over and love to talk over dinner and enjoy some wine afterwards, you would also need to invest on wine glasses.

You can get fine wines from Sokolin.com. It is wise to always have a pair of white and red wine in your wine cabinet or pantry, just in case your guests would have varying tastes. Wines also make a great gift idea! If you know someone who would love to get rare wine or a premier wine label, you can also get it from Sokolin.com.

A good rule of thumb to go by is to serve red wine in larger glasses, while champagne works better in more slender glasses.

Here is what I have learned, you serve the following wine in the corresponding wine glasses:
• Bold red wines – serve in goblet wine glasses
• Young or light white – serve in narrow mouthed glass
• Wood aged white wines – serve in slightly wider mouthed glass, but still narrow
• White wine – serve in tall stemmed hock glasses
• Champagne – serve in tall slender tulip glass
