I discovered this wonderful caterer when we went on retreat this weekend. Too bad their business office is in Pampanga so I would have to shoulder their out of town expenses if I get them for parties. They are actually just a small coffee and cake shop in Pampanga and they just do exclusive catering for parties. Their food is to die for and their crew is very professional, patient, efficient and friendly. Of course their main specialty would be their cakes – and we had one for dessert for every meal for two days! You cannot beat their taste – you cannot even bribe me with orlando vacations for it! They are that delicious!

Kanin Club: Crispy Dinuguan
-
- Dinuguan
- P120.00
- Spicy pork stew flavored by vinegar and pork blood. like European blood sausage, except it’s stew
If I could have my way, I would eat this viand every other week, served with Aligue rice, but then I would have to double my Kettlebell exercise time and I haven’t even been exercising that much lately.
This treat comes with a twist as the pork has been deep fried, giving it a crispy crunchy taste before setting it in dinuguan – I like it!
Kanin Club: Seafood Kare Kare
I am sure that Toronto hotels won’t be serving this yummy treat:
This is the yummy Seafood Kare Kare which was ordered by the birthday girl, my Mom. I really an am not a fan of seafood with sauces (I prefer them steamed, grilled or fried) but this one is an exception. I devoured all the pusit in record time and helped myself to the clams too!
Kanin Club: Ensaladang Talong and Adobong Kangkong
Ensaladang Talong- P100.00
- A traditional accompaniment to pinoy fare: grilled eggplants with freshly- chopped onions and vinaigrette. A salad with bite!
Adobong Kangkong- P65.00
- Fresh green water spinach sauteed with onions, garlic, vinegar and soy sauce. It bites!
So we would not feel so guilty eating the aligue rice and then some more meaty goodness and have our bcbsnc health plans used right away (because we might get hospitalized!), we ordered these tasty veggies from the menu. I personally liked the eggplant ensalada as it was really tasty!
Kanin Club: Aligue Rice
So I start with featured pictures from our latest eating expedition at the Kanin Club.
- Aligue Rice
- P100.00
- This fried rice sauteed with crab fat is so worth the extra hour you’ll need to do in the gym tomorrow. Serves 2 to 3
Not for the faint of heart (and those with high blood pressure, most definitely), this rice is sure to keep you full even with a few spoons of viand alone. I thought I need to scout for cheap insurance after eating it because I might die early!
Kanin Club
We were finally able to try out this restaurant for my Mom’s birthday. Simple surroundings packed with lots of tasty food. I actually love it – would love to come back. I am sure the husband would love it there.
More pictures soon. I just have to compose my thoughts first.
Pinoy Cooking: RSM Lutong Bahay
It was our first time to eat at RSM Lutong Bahay along Tagaytay Hiway last week and it didn’t disappoint. I will blog about their food next time (silly hungry me was not able to take pictures – but at least I was still smart enough to get a copy of their menu) and my review on it.
I love the cozy atmosphere of the place and the view downstairs. The kids we brought along had fun running under foggy skies.
I especially liked their quaint wooden decorations. I wonder if they get their wooden blinds from Wooden Blinds Direct. They used the Roman Blinds on one section of the restaurant and it lent a privacy to the room. Their clearance wood shutters run from only 25pounds!
