Nowadays, people started to go for natural products. From food, medicines, shampoo and deodorant, people now prefer the things that are made naturally and with natural ingredients. This proves that people now prioritize health and as much as possible without the unnecessary chemicals that most things have today.

One of the natural things that have become known to the world is the plant Kratom. Kratom has been used by the natives of Southeast Asia for centuries now. These countries include Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar. In United States, this was just recently discovered and is now becoming popular because of the benefits that it gives.

From a huge tree in Southeast Asia, the Kratom leaves are now being used as medicines and offers medicinal uses as the following…

  1. Pain Killer. Because of the stimulant that it offers, Kratom leaves can be taken to relieve pain.
  2. Anti-diarrheal. Kratom has an inhibition of gastrointestinal transit. This is linked to opioid receptor stimulation that can be used to stop diarrhea as soon as possible.
  3. Minor infections. Due to the leaves’ immune system boosting minor infections can be cured upon drinking.
  4. Poultice for wounds. Wounds are healed when you dab a little bit of Kratom extract that is used as an ointment.
  5. Cough suppressant. Kratom Leaves turned into tea can be a cough suppressant, too.

Some might think preparing this stuff would be a little messy and complicated but there are different ways on how the Kratom that worked as a medicine is taken.  These are…

  1. Kratom leaves that are fresh and dried are chewed as soon as the stringy central vein is removed.
  2. Crushed Kratom leaves end up as a powdered substance which can be mixed with any fruit juice or water.
  3. Dried Kratom leaves can also be made into a tea that is strained and then drunk. Some mix these with their tea to make it taste better.
  4. The Kratom leaves can also be made as an extract by boiling fresh or dried leaves for a long time.

With all these medicinal uses and benefits of Kratom, in a few years, it will not only become more popular, but every household worldwide will have this product in their medicine cabinets and it will be used for a variety of ailments.

Weight Loss Update

Total weight loss update since June: 13.2lbs.

I lost the first 10 lbs in the first two months. I know – really slow progress, like a turtle. But for me, any progress, no matter how small, is still progress. I actually have up and down 1-3lbs this month of August, and I am aiming for another 7lbs to make sure I lose 10 this month. I know I need to inject some form of exercise to my day – dieting, or eating healthy, won’t do the trick alone, considering the size I need to lose.

So what did I really to lose the 10lbs easily?

You know, it really would sound so cliche, but I really just gave up soda. And drank lots of water, and by that I mean around 5L of water everyday. I try to drink at least 3L before lunch every mornings and it doesn’t give me problems at night. It controls hunger pangs, flushes out toxins and generally just gets you healthier. I only eat out once a week, allowing myself to drink sodas or juice during that eat out. I am also mindful of portion control – I still eat, three times a day, with rice and snacks in between. But I try to make sure I eat not because I see food but because I am hungry.

I am aiming for a weight loss of 50lbs by December, so I can enjoy the holidays and look good in pictures (not gonna lie about that!). I am also planning for our trips next year and maybe even a baby so I need to be as fit and healthy as possible. For now, drafting the itinerary and looking around for affordable Fort Collins CO hotels are on my to-do list!

Staying Young – Clear Skin

Even if I am a bit on the heavy side, there is one thing I am taking care of pretty well, and that would be my skin. I try and drink lots of water to keep myself hydrated, sleep enough hours in the night (I try very hard :P) and get facials every month in addition to the strict and consistent skin care routine that I have. This is the reason I am very intrigued with GNC Parsippany NJ products. Some even have considered them to be the fountain of youth, being able to insert youth back into aged skin and hands.

I looked at the videos at the GNC Parsippany NJ web site and I can’t wait to learn more about it. I will let you know more once I get the necessary information.
