I am interested to learn how to cook this time. And I am really cook – I want to learn how to cook different cuisines. And even bake. Knowing how OC and anal I can be I feel enrolling myself to cooking classes would be better for me in the long run. Unfortunately, these types of classes can cost an arm and a leg that I’d need to apply for loans online so I can afford to enroll.

So I guess it is back to cookbooks, recipes online and getting advice from my mom and friends for me. I have bought cookbooks on sale, ones which are fairly easy to do and feature ingredients I can buy easily from the grocery store or the market. I am one who follows recipes to the letter. I do not experiment with spices. I can even just cook without tasting what’s cooking. That is why I always go for tried and tested recipes. I have friends who can tell what ingredients are in a recipe, a sauce for example, just by tasting – I am not like that. I just like to eat! If it tastes good, better – I would not even bother trying to find out what made the meal taste good.

I still have a long way to go. I just hope this sudden spark of interest towards cooking would not wane easily. My husband is praying for it. He is even joking that I can ask for anything I want as long as I learn how to cook good!

We are finally going to be tackling our next house improvement project — the kitchen. It is actually my most hated part of the house, primarily because I really cannot do anything about it. It is in junction with our laundry room so it is always messy.

The husband has designed a shelving and storage system to hold our kitchen appliances which would have space for our washing machine as well. We have replaced our electric gas range with a new one and I have put out the cookware I have bought during last year’s Black Friday Sale. Even my Corningware and Corelle diningware are all out — it is a sign that I am ready to cook meals for our family!

We still have a long way to go, and that would entail more money I know. We are so tempted to avail of faxless payday loans so we can finish everything in one go, but we need to be patient and accept the fact that this home improvement project would need to be finished in phases.

I want to have better cooking utensils – both wooden and stainless pieces. I am also wishing for an oven so I can bake – but I can do with the microwave oven and turbo broiler for now. I also have gotten out the multi-cooker we bought so I can steam and grill more – all part of my never ending quest to eat healthier meals.
