Ensaladang Talong
- P100.00
- A traditional accompaniment to pinoy fare: grilled eggplants with freshly- chopped onions and vinaigrette. A salad with bite!
Adobong Kangkong
- P65.00
- Fresh green water spinach sauteed with onions, garlic, vinegar and soy sauce. It bites!
So we would not feel so guilty eating the aligue rice and then some more meaty goodness and have our bcbsnc health plans used right away (because we might get hospitalized!), we ordered these tasty veggies from the menu. I personally liked the eggplant ensalada as it was really tasty!

Restaurants
So I start with featured pictures from our latest eating expedition at the Kanin Club.
- Aligue Rice
- P100.00
- This fried rice sauteed with crab fat is so worth the extra hour you’ll need to do in the gym tomorrow. Serves 2 to 3
Not for the faint of heart (and those with high blood pressure, most definitely), this rice is sure to keep you full even with a few spoons of viand alone. I thought I need to scout for cheap insurance after eating it because I might die early!

Kitchen Appliances
I want a coffee maker for Christmas – extra points if it’s going to be a jura capresso or an espresso machine. But since I am the only one who really drinks coffee here (the husband is only here during weekends), such expense on a gadget solely for me might not be practical. BUT if someone is giving it as a gift, I would not complain.
And YES, I am making sure “Santa” reads about it too.
Talk about being subtle eh?

Money Food
A few friends invested what they have earned from their online writing gigs on food stalls. Surprisingly, it did very well so what they are doing now is expanding. Expansion has been very stressful and taxing for them as money has been flying out the window as fast as it can. They recently hired a Las Vegas accounting firm to help them account every single penny they have been earning and it has helped a lot. Bookkeeping has not been one of my friend’s strongest points so spending money for competent people to track down her expenses was one of her wisest investments so far.

Restaurants
We were finally able to try out this restaurant for my Mom’s birthday. Simple surroundings packed with lots of tasty food. I actually love it – would love to come back. I am sure the husband would love it there.
More pictures soon. I just have to compose my thoughts first.
