A friend has finally gone ahead and opened his dream business – a coffee and pastry shop in the heart of the university belt. It has been in his plans for the longest time; all the steps he took in college were towards this goal. He took a course in Hotel and Restaurant Management, did summer classes in Culinary Arts (Pastry) and enrolled himself in business classes as well.
His coffee shop opened last month and so far, he has reported that they have never encountered a zero day, even on weekends. His pastries are also being ordered in larger quantities since half of them are ordered to go. He is thinking of introducing more selections in the menu like sandwiches and pasta as per his customers’ feedback soon.
I am so happy for him! Prior to the opening, he was really feeling down because money was all gushing out without a single cent trickling back in. He even had to buy checks and use cheap personal checks to issue to his suppliers as he was really low on funds. However, all his cheap personal checks now are as good as cash as business is starting to pick up.
